What have I done?
Note that as an aid to students memorising Kanji, all the Level 2 pages on this site only use Kanji that are within the current JLPT Level 2 Kanji List. So, basically, if you see a Kanji you don't know, and you're studying for Level 2, you should learn it. The entire site, then, is good reading practice if nothing else. There are currently 739 kanji for Level 2. (NB My Level 2 list excludes kanji from levels 3 and 4). How did I do it?
I type all the data in by hand from various sources (mostly past exam books).
For those technically minded, I use XML and XSL to create the pages by typing in XML data files
and transforming them using XSL to the XHTML pages you are reading.
This keeps the data and appearance separate.
Who did it?
My name is Peter van der Woude and, if your browser has the required fonts,
you should be able to see my name written in Japanese Katakana:
ピーターバンダウッド Notes
I found many exam sentences from the
Study Page at MLC Meguro
Language Center.
Note, that documents available for download at MLC are only available in PDF
format and the text cannot be copied (due to security applied to the files).
